Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff — including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.
As my relationship with my girlfriend becomes closer and closer; two of my dreams that my wife to be would complete have become a reality. We have started to read the bible and pray together. Prayer is still oh so difficult for me. Well not prayer in its self but prayer out load with another. I don’t know why its such a struggle, it should be a natural extension of being. The only thing I can think of that is my last wall before letting someone in my heart completely.
If I am doing what God wants me to do I will…
- I will have grown beyond my past.
- I will have developed an inner core; beliefs and principles to live by.
- I will have developed true humility; understanding myself, my humanity, weaknesses, strengths and learn from my mistakes.
- I will have prioritized relationships.
- I will have focus on God’s purpose for my life.
